WELCOME! Hi, my name is Yoan. I am the creator of YoanSewingStudio. This blog and my Youtube channel were originally started out of extreme boredom and feeling of isolation during postpartum. After receiving many positive and constructive feedback, I decided to post regularly on Youtube, and would typically upload 1-3 videos a month. My Sewing Journey I learned to sew as a little girl, thanks to a kind neighbor who was a seamstress. She taught me basic hand-stitching and once gave me a bag of fabric scraps — which I used to make clothes for my Barbie dolls. From that moment, I've always loved fabric, thread and needle. Years later, I picked up sewing again to unwind after busy workdays. I bought my first sewing machine and rediscovered how much I love the craft. A bit about me I was born in Manado, Indonesia. In 2008, I left home and began a life abroad — what I thought would be a few years working overseas turned into an ongoing adventure. I spent 7 years living and working in Dubai before moving to the U.S. in the summer of 2015. Since then, I’ve called Northern Arizona home. When I’m not sewing or designing, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and reading. I share this journey with my husband, our son, and our two pets (a dog and a cat). FAQs What sewing machine do you use? Janome Skyline S5 and Juki TL-18QVP Can I use your patterns in the kits that I sell? No, unfortunately I do not allow my patterns to be used and sold in kits. Can I create larger or smaller size (bags, quilt, etc) from your pattern? Yes you can, feel free to alter any pattern to suit your need, unfortunately I do not provide different measurements. Each pattern that I share for free comes as is, any modification that you wish to do should be from your own brilliant creativity. How can I support your work?
