What you need to make this quilt • 1 5/8 yard main fabric (including borders). • 1 yard coordinating fabric. For the main and coordinating fabric, I use authentic Indonesian Batik that I bought during my trip there in September last year. These batik fabrics come from the Solo (Surakarta) region in Central Java hence the name of the quilt. • 4 yard background fabric. Choose light solid (any shade of white or off white). • 5/8 yard binding fabric. • 5 1/2 yard backing fabric (42" wide) or 2 3/8 yard (108" wide). • 79" x 91" batting. I always prefer cotton batting for my quilt. Machine quilting thread (if opt machine quilting). Basic sewing /quilting tools and notions.
