what you need to make the mala tote bag

FABRIC
Fabric 1 :  3/8 yard of faux leather/ vinyl fabric (54" wide).
alternatively you can use cork, heavier canvas, denim, or other mid-heavy weight fabric.
Fabric 2 : about 1/2 yard of cotton quilting fabric.
Fabric 3 : about 1/2 yard of cotton quilting fabric.

ZIPPER
8" (20cm) teeth length -metal zipper; for the front zipper pocket.*
16" (40.5 cm) teeth length - metal zipper; for the bag closure.*
all purpose zipper at least 8" (20 cm); for the zipper pocket
*you may substitute the metal zippers with purse zippers, I recommend to keep it consistent for both the front exterior zipper and the zipper closure.

HARDWARES
(4) d-rings with 1" (2.5cm) inner measurements.
(4) set of rivets; I use medium 5/16 (8mm) size.

1/8" or 1/4" basting tape to baste the zipper.

TOOLS
Walking Foot
- I highly recommend using walking foot for bag making, it's perfect for sewing multiple layers of fabric evenly.
Zipper Foot - To attach the zipper
Polyester Thread
